Calculation notes
Good for planning—not for statutory deadlines.
The weekday definition is fixed at Monday through Friday. It works for rough project plans, editorial schedules, and anniversary gaps, but local holidays, make-up days, and organization closures need a separate check.
Date offsets start from the selected start date. “Weekdays” skips Saturday and Sunday; a negative number moves into the past.
FAQ
Range boundaries and weekdays
Do weekdays account for public holidays?
No. Dates treats Monday through Friday as weekdays and has no regional holiday or make-up workday data. Do not use it alone for payroll or contract deadlines.
Why can the date gap and inclusive range differ by one?
The mathematical gap excludes the endpoint. Turn on “Include the end date” to count both the start and end dates in the range.
Can time zones add or remove a day?
The tool handles inputs as calendar dates without a clock time, so 23- or 25-hour daylight-saving days do not change the result.
